چکیده

An extended Anderson model, including screening channels (nonhybridizing, but interacting with the local orbit), is studied within the Anderson-Yuval approach, originally devised for the single-channel Kondo problem. By comparing the perturbation expansions of this model and a generalized resonant level model, the spin-spin correlation functions are calculated which show non-Fermi liquid exponent depending on the strength of the scattering potential. The relevance of this result to experiments in some heavy fermion systems is briefly discussed. 75.20.Hr, 75.30.Mb, 71.28.+d, 71.27.+a Typeset using REVTEX 1

Fermi and Non–fermi Liquid Behavior in Quantum Impurity Systems: Conserving Slave Boson Theory

The question of Fermi liquid vs. non–Fermi liquid behavior induced by strong correlations is one of the prominent problems in metallic local moment systems. As standard models for such systems, the SU(N)×SU(M) Anderson impurity models exhibit both Fermi liquid and non–Fermi liquid behavior, depending on their symmetry. Taking the Anderson model as an example, these lectures first give an introd...

Fermi and Non–fermi Liquid Behavior of Local Moment Systems within a Conserving Slave Boson Theory

Using an auxiliary boson method, we present a generally applicable scheme to...

Metallic non-Fermi-liquid phases of an extended Hubbard model in infinite dimensions.

We study an extended Hubbard model in the limit of infinite dimensions and its zero dimensional counterpart, a generalized asymmetric Anderson model. In the impurity model we find three kinds of mixed valence states: a) the usual strong coupling state in which a resonance forms at the Fermi level; b) a weak coupling state in which neither the impurity spin nor the impurity charge degrees of fre...

Toulouse points and non-Fermi-liquid states in the mixed-valence regime of the generalized Anderson model.

We study the mixed-valence regime of a generalized Anderson impurity model using the bosonization approach. This single-impurity problem is defined by the U5` Anderson model with an additional densitydensity interaction, as well as an explicit exchange interaction, between the impurity and conduction electrons. We find three points in the interaction parameter space at which all the correlation...

Fermi-liquid versus non-Fermi-liquid behavior in triple quantum dots.

We study the effect of electron hopping in triple quantum dots modeled by the three-impurity Anderson model. We determine the range of hopping parameters where the system exhibits the two-channel Kondo effect and has non-Fermi-liquid properties in a wide temperature interval. As this interval is entered from above, the conductance through the side dots increases to a half of the conductance qua...
